The City of Watkinsville is seeking a Downtown Development Director to lead and manage the city’s Downtown Development program. This position is responsible for implementing the vision and strategic direction of the Downtown Development Authority Board, supporting downtown business retention and recruitment, coordinating marketing and promotional efforts, managing the DDA budget, assisting with historic preservation and tourism initiatives, and identifying grants, sponsorships, and funding opportunities. The Economic Development Coordinator manages job functions at the direction of the Main Street /Economic Development Director. The coordinator assists to drive economic growth and development within the City of Hampton and is responsible for coordinating strategies, programs, and initiatives that promote economic sustainability and prosperity.
The City of Calhoun is now accepting applications for a Main Street Coordinator. This is a part-time position.
Responsibilities include serving as a consistent, professional representative of the DDA in the merchant community, support the planning, logistics, and execution of downtown events, assist with the annual sponsorship outreach process, support the Director on special projects and organizational priorities as they evolve, and perform other duties as assigned that are reasonably incidental to this role
Qualifications are experience in community development, economic development, nonprofit work, business, public relations, or a related field is preferred. Candidates with demonstrated relationship-building skills and community credibility are strongly encouraged to apply. Georgia Main Street training will be provided. A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
The Downtown Revitalization Coordinator serves as a key member of the Office of Downtown Development within the Georgia Department of Community Affairs (DCA). Working under the direction of the Office Director, this position plays an important role in advancing downtown revitalization and economic development initiatives across the State of Georgia.
The Coordinator provides direct technical assistance, training, and strategic resources to municipalities, Downtown Development Authorities (DDAs), and local Main Street programs to support the growth and sustainability of vibrant downtown districts. This position will help guide economic revitalization efforts, strengthen small business development and retention, and promote investment in Georgia’s downtown communities.
